Miss Allison – Owner
Hello! I am Miss Allison, owner and teacher in the two year old room. I am excited to bring my 17 years of childcare experience to the classroom and the center as a whole. I look forward to connecting with all of the children and creating a greater community with that families that join us here at the Hartwood Daycare and Learning Center!
Miss Emma – Co-director
My name is Emma and I am one of the directors here at HDLC. I grew up in Fox Chapel and live in O’Hara Township. I also graduated with my Associates degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Edinboro University and CCAC and have over 10 years of childcare experience. I am happily married to my husband Carl who and have a wonderful son named Owen. I look forward to getting to know and create special relationships with all of the children and families here!
Mr. Jacob – Co-director
With my experience of working in the preschool room since 2018, I bring interactive and research based learning activities to HDLC. I studied early childhood education at Westminster College and have a passion for literacy and reading education for my students. I myself like to read in my free time and go to Pittsburgh Pirate games as often as I can!
Miss Karina – Co-director
Leading preschool and working as assistant director, Miss Karina will be one of the friendly faces that greets you at our door every morning. Working at HDLC since 2019, Miss Karina has loved to watch the preschoolers learn and grow as they prepare for kindergarten and beyond. In her spare time, she loves to camp with her family and plans a trip to Disney World every year.
Miss Cara – 2 Year Old Room
Hi! I’m Miss Cara and I work with the Two year olds. I love to work with the toddlers and help them explore, learn, and grow through play and discovery. Our classroom is all about creating a safe, fun, and caring space where kids can build confidence and independence. I’m excited to get to know your child and be a part of their learning journey!
Miss Noza – 1 Year Old Room
Miss Noza has been a staple of HDLC since she joined the team in 2014. Her passion for early childcare has allowed her to excel in her care for the one year old room and assist the growth of the young children that get to spend time with her. Miss Noza works diligently to ensure that love, kindness, and safety are the core principles of her room.
Miss Dariana – 1 Year Old Room
Dariana moved to Pittsburgh from the Dominican Republic in 2013 and has been a part of HDLC since 2018. As one of the 1 year old teachers, she loves to watch the children take their first steps and read to them in both Spanish and English. In her free time Miss Dariana enjoys baking, spending time with her two children, and relaxing on the beach in her home country.
Miss Gail – Infant Room
Miss Gail began her story with HDLC as a fellow parent, with her two young daughters enrolled here. She loved the community and care of HDLC so much she decided to join the team! Today she works in the infant room while still having the opportunity to spend time with her daughters, who are still students at the center. Miss Gail is joyful to spend time with the babies everyday and looks forward to providing a loving environment to your young ones.
Miss Jess – Infant Room
Miss Jess brings a calm and patient presence to the infant room. Excited to facilitate growth for children in their earliest stages, Jess has been a valued member of the infant room since her joining in 2025. In her free time, she enjoys gaming with her husband in the winter and driving her 1969 El Camino in the summer!
Mr. Nate
Mr. Nate bring a smile and exuberant energy to HDLC every moment he is here. Working with any age group, Nate is happy play and bring joy to all of the children of HDLC.
Miss Abby
While also working through nursing school, Miss Abby found her love for childcare babysitting her seven little cousins. Working with all age groups, Abby hopes to bring safety and a smile to every room in HDLC.
